Hijama Sunnah Days 2026

The Sunnah days for Hijama are on the 17th, 19th and 21st of the Islamic month.

The following dates are the Sunnah days for Hijama Cupping Therapy for the year 2026:

PLEASE NOTE: THESE DATES ARE A ROUGH ESTIMATE AS IT DEPENDS ON NEW MOON SIGHTING AT THE END OF EACH MONTH

In the traditional Islamic calendar, the start and length of each month are determined by the physical sighting of the crescent moon by an authorised individual or committee. Because this relies on actual observations rather than fixed calculations, it is not always possible to predict the exact length of Islamic months in advance.

It’s recommended to consult with knowledgeable religious scholars or healthcare professionals for guidance on the practice of Hijama, including its timing and conditions. Additionally, the decision to perform Hijama should be based on individual health conditions and needs.

What Is the Islamic Hijri Calendar?

The Islamic Hijri calendar, also known as the Islamic lunar calendar, is used by Muslims worldwide to determine important religious dates and events. These include Ramadan, Hajj, Eid al Fitr and Eid al Adha.

The Islamic calendar is based entirely on lunar cycles. Each new Islamic month begins when the new crescent moon is sighted, making the calendar closely tied to natural moon observations rather than fixed calculations.

What Are the Islamic Months?

The Islamic Hijri calendar consists of 12 lunar months, listed below in numerical order:

Muharram
Safar
Rabi al Awwal
Rabi al Thani
Jumada al Awwal
Jumada al Thani
Rajab
Shaban
Ramadan
Shawwal
Dhul Qadah
Dhul Hijjah, the month of Hajj

These months form the foundation of the Islamic year and are used to determine fasting, pilgrimage and other acts of worship.

How Many Days Are in the Islamic Calendar?

The Islamic Hijri calendar consists of either 354 or 355 days in a year. Each month lasts either 29 or 30 days, depending on the sighting of the crescent moon.

Because the Islamic calendar is shorter than the Gregorian calendar, Islamic dates move earlier by around 10 to 11 days each year.

Why Islamic Dates Can Vary

Islamic dates may vary between countries and regions because the traditional Islamic calendar relies on the physical sighting of the crescent moon. Some countries use local moon sightings, while others follow calculated or global sightings.

As a result, the start of Islamic months and key dates such as Ramadan or Eid may differ slightly depending on location.
